The word Lacerta translates to Lizard in the Latin language. The lizard holds different meanings for different cultures around the world. For certain Native American Indians, it represents conservation and self-protection, the Dogon of West Africa consider it a protective spirit animal, while the Bamum tribe of Cameroon see it as a powerful fertility symbol.
